I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve recently been awarded my Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation through the Realtors Land Institute!
This year my goal was to complete the requirements to obtain my ALC, Accredited Land Consultant, designation. In order to do so I traveled to Savannah, Georgia at the end of May to attend the LandU Education Week and finish up the last of my necessary coursework. It was great to network and learn from Land, Farm, and Ranch agents from all over the nation! In between classes it was great to take in the sights of the beautiful City of Savannah since I had never been!
This designation represents a commitment to excellence in the land industry. To earn it, I completed 104 hours of specialized coursework and handled over $10 million in land-related real estate transactions. The process also required a comprehensive application, including a professional resume, an essay, a portfolio
of land sales, and two letters of recommendation from current ALCs. After passing an extensive final exam, my application was reviewed and approved by the committee. Out of all REALTORS® in the United States, fewer than 1% hold the ALC designation, with less than 800 ALCs nationwide. Working with someone with an ALC means you’re working with a professional who’s taken rigorous classes such as:
- Land 101: Fundamentals of Land Brokerage
- Land Investment Analysis
- Transitional Land Real Estate
- Tax Deferred 1031 Exchanges
- Recreational Land Real Estate
- Real Estate Mapping Technologies & Techniques
…and many more!
This journey has been almost four years in the making, and it’s exciting to finally have my ALC designation! I’m incredibly grateful for the support and guidance from my mentors, peers, and the amazing group I attended LandU Week with. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I’m excited to continue growing in the land industry!
