Masonville, CO is an unincorporated community in Larimer County located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. This community and the surrounding area offers the best of mountain living coupled with access to urban amenities found on the front range. Redstone Canyon is tucked directly behind Horsetooth Mountain and began to take shape as a residential area in the late 1960’s when several ranches were sold and subdivided into 40-acre lots. Signature red rock cliffs surround the 6,800-acre canyon which is now home to approximately 85 residences. The Redstone Canyon Association (RCA) formed in 1979 and serves as a resource for members as well as oversees maintenance of access roads. Other popular residential areas include Buckhorn Estates, Buckskin Heights and Wild Valley North.

The foothills serve as a playground for residents as well as an abundance of wildlife, including elk, deer, bobcats and an occasional bear. Ponderosa pine, juniper, Douglas-fir, a mix of shrubs and grasslands blanket the area and support a rich ecosystem. Residents only have a 15 minute drive to Horsetooth Mountain Park and Horsetooth Reservoir where they can fish, hike, boat, swim and more.
Aside from outdoor recreation, nearby Loveland and Fort Collins have a variety of cultural attractions and shopping to offer. Being nationally and internationally recognized as a major center for Art, you can find a plethora of fine sculptures throughout Loveland like the Benson Park Sculpture Garden, and there is always an art event to be found both indoors and out. If you don’t feel like putting in a day of walking trails and parks, you can put in a day of walking shopping centers and local attractions instead.

The Masonville area is served by the Thompson R2-J school district. Thompson School District is high ranking within the state of Colorado, and students here test above the state average on ACT tests which determine their college eligibility. Higher education opportunities include Aims Community College and Regis University located in Loveland, with larger universities like Colorado State University and University of Colorado located in cities nearby.
